Your Privacy at a Boudoir Session

Privacy is probably the first real question people have about boudoir photography, even if they don’t ask it out loud right away. It comes up in almost every pre-session conversation once people feel comfortable enough to get there.

So here is the direct, no-vague-language answer to what happens with your images.

Your images are yours

Nothing gets posted anywhere, shown to anyone, or used for any purpose without your explicit permission. That’s not something buried in a contract. It’s something we talk through in person before the session starts.

The client stories on this site, the testimonials, the images used for portfolio, all of it exists only because those specific clients said yes. That yes always has a scope: which images, in what context, with or without identifying details. “You can use my photos” does not mean “do whatever you want with them.”

Who is present during the session

It is just you and me. No assistants, no second shooters, nobody else in the studio. If you want to bring someone with you for support, we can talk about that. But by default, the session is private.

The studio is also private. It’s not a shared space, not a rented loft with other photographers working nearby. You are not walking through a lobby or past anyone on the way in. The entrance is discreet. That is by design.

How images are stored and delivered

After the session, images are edited and stored securely. You see them for the first time at your ordering appointment, in person, at full size. There is no online gallery link, no upload to a third-party service, no digital file floating around somewhere waiting to be seen by the wrong person. The reveal happens in the studio, with you, when you are ready.

From there, you choose what you take home: fine art prints, an album, a wall portrait. What you don’t select stays private. If you have specific questions about how files are stored or how long they are retained, ask during your consultation and you will get a straight answer.

What about on-location sessions?

Not every session happens in the studio. Some happen in a hotel room, a gym, a space that has meaning to the client. Privacy at an on-location session requires a different kind of planning, and that planning is my job, not yours.

For hotel sessions, I work with properties whose owners understand what photographer partnerships look like and who manage access to unused rooms specifically for this purpose. You are not walking past other guests to get to the room. The hallways are clear. The room is yours for the duration. For one client, we used a vintage property with claw-foot tubs and rooms full of character. The owner coordinated access so that the session felt as private as anything done behind a closed studio door.

For gym sessions, we work with the facility to arrange access before or after hours, when the space is empty. The session with just you and me in a closed gym is as private as the studio. Just a different kind of private.

If a location you have in mind raises questions about how privacy would work there, ask during the consultation. I will either tell you how we make it work or tell you honestly that it’s not the right setting. Either answer is useful.

What about the client stories page?

Every woman featured on the client stories page of this site chose to be there. Some use their first name. Some asked to be anonymous. Some provided a quote and no image. Some provided an image that doesn’t show their face. The level of visibility is always their decision, not mine.

If you would like to be a private client, you will never appear on this site in any form. That is a completely normal choice and it changes nothing about how the session works.

The consultation is a good place to ask anything you’re not sure about. Privacy questions, practical questions, questions you feel awkward asking. There are no wrong ones. I would rather you ask and feel settled before booking than feel uncertain after.
